Whats The Best Gas/station?

[quote name='l8t apex' date='Aug 9 2005, 09:30 AM']I own a Shell station. Do to the desire of the public wanting higher performance gas and today performance engine Shell premium is 94+ and is sold as V power. The chemist added a lot of cleaning agents to reduce carbon build up.
If you want you can see the difference from 87 to 94 just by its color in a glass jar.
The base stock of gas is the same but each company design better additives for faster burn and emssions. Cheap no name gas does NOT have this stuff and is not the best but works fine.We have Casino truck stops and they get the bottom of the barrel while contracted name brands (usually own a refinery get 1st dibs )
The V means nothing and is just a advertising thing to make the public identify with the new gas.

The V power out here is 93 octane

Well thats what stamped on the pump. We were sent info that saidit higher and then the state came out "by law" and measures our octane. The sticker is what the minimum must meet to be sold as such. Mine is 94.5 but its still plaquer as 93. FYI

I don't understand why they would have it stamped 93 octane when they could make more money if it was being stamped as 94.All mixtures of V power fuel must not all be the same then, some are more than 93 but never less than 93 I take it?Otherwise I don't see why they wouldn't stamp it as 94 octane. IMO

i use either Kwik Fill or Sunoco 89 most of the time...seems to work fine. i'd use a higher grade if gas was cheaper and i raced. but i don't really race, except for when some dumbass high schooler pulls up with his 'pimped out' eclipse thinkin he's tough ****...then i'm up to race!

87, but I don't have an rx-7. I usually go to WaWa or to exxon. no sunoco's, or chevron's around here.
but when i had my rex, i put 87 in and always got it at wawa, it was convenient for me to go there, they are all over maryland
