You have 3 easy options:

1. Buy a new pulsation damper

2. Get an 89-91 rail

3. Replace the pulsation damper with a bolt.

take plastic cap offa it see if screw fell out. new one is 125$ after we got new one we saw that screw had vibrated out-still got it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/mellow.png

horn4858 07-15-2002 07:24 PM

bad part was had to pull upper intake

horn4858 07-15-2002 07:42 PM

that plug method sounds good to me/with locktite the dam screw could fall out going down road-on long trip- if we have any more trouble out of new one-its gone one way or another https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif

The pressure regulator is on the secondary rail.

13BAce 07-15-2002 09:42 PM

Are you talking about one of the banjo bolts, etc.?

winger 07-15-2002 09:43 PM

Yes, the short one is the primary rail.

I'll still change the PD with the newer one I have just in case, 120k miles vs 30k miles and I'll see what I can do about the pressure regulator....

It may not be the pressure regulator that's leaking. IT could be one of the copper washers, or maybe an o-ring.

winger 07-17-2002 05:08 PM

any washer/ring wil do...dont feel like ordering them from mazda and shell out $20

horn4858 07-17-2002 06:05 PM

a copper or aluminem that is right size will work. ididnt spell that right.

13BAce 07-17-2002 07:51 PM

I have ALOT of those washers as spares. Ask vosko. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
