Hello all,

I found a nice red 89' RTU with 90k. No sunroof.

I't's a 2 owner car that has zero rust as it was kept stored through the Maine winters.

The car was re-sprayed but done right and interior is 8/10.

So, what would you say this car is worth--he is asking $3700.

thanks for the input!

In good condition thats an ok price, I would try and talk them down just a bit. Just make sure the motor was mantained just as well. But either way these cars are getting old, good condition is few and far between now.

In '89 the GTU was the base model, right?

Seems like a lot, but as Seppuku said, nice cars are getting harder to find. Just make sure it's worth that much.

gtu is the base model in 89, but there isnt much they added on the upper end ones anyways.

I'd be willing to pay up to and including 10 dollars or more!

the price of rx7s usually depends on the area. i seen stock 2nd gens selling for 5-8k. turbo and non-turbo. check around to see what some similar FC's are selling for.

Just wanted to add that I'm just about to buy an 89 GTU for $1500, so 3700 doesn't sound like that good a deal. However the car I'm looking at has more mileage, a sunroof and is in Vancouver, so the lack of a real winter could be a big factor to how many are still around. Good luck with getting ahold of the car, and I'm sure you'll be able to talk him down a bit.

you can buy cheap rx7s, they usually need alot of small things, these small things will nickle and dime you.

or you can spend a little more on one and get a car that is all there and not pieced together, the quality repaint you mention makes the car worth more.

would I personally spend that much? If the car was REALLY nice yes, I have also sold RX7s for more money then that but its never to someone who already has a RX7.
