What Would You Do If...
#1
Before I get into the mods and the money. I wanted to ask for advice. I have a cherry stock 86' GXL. What would you do if you had a clean slate? Or what wouldn't you do if you could go back and redo your FC3?
The Objectives:
To keep it as a daily driver or at least a weekender.
It does not have to destroy everyone at the drag strip but I want it to surprise a few ppl.
I want it to hang the road like fly paper, stop on a dime and 0 to 60 MPH like a beast.
The Rules:
I don't have smog test here.
Exhaust that has a nice volume/tone but not ear shattering.
No Ricer sounding exhaust.
Aggressive street port.
Aftermarket ecu + laptop.
Normally aspirated on 6 port intake.
Cross drilled rotors for good breakage.
Dual exhaust with flammage... Even if I have to install spark plugs.
Maybe a mid weight flywheel (not stock and not too light)
Aftermarket clutch is a must.
Injectors (I don't know **** about)
New Bushings and sway bars/shocks/struts maybe a tower brace too
The Budget:
3k over the next 6 months...

if we have to keep it 6 port, then i would focus on handling.
flywheel:
aluminum with stock clutch
suspension:
do all the bushings
get good shocks (agx, tokiko)
springs are nice but not really needed would be best to do 350ish and 280ish front and rear
camber plates up front are nice, but not needed
camber link out back is needed
go for 16x7 or bigger wheels,
with sticky tires
engine:
make sure the 6pi works
get rid of the cats
on the street this isnt fast but on a roadcourse, its good to catch a lot of "faster" cars

If i had the chance to do an n/a over again within those limits, it would be all suspension and nitrous..
Most interesting... I never even considered that. I have never talked to anyone who used nitrous in a seven.
