the engine is a bridged s5 motor, and the piping is going to have to be a single exit one (no y-pipe for two mufflers) im looking for a good mix between not losing so much power and not having my ears bleed. also what size diamater should i use? the car also has a racing beat road/race header.

i'd use 2.5-3" pipe for n/a, 3-3.5" pipe for turbo, but i cant help you with the muffler. i like my ears to bleed.

we've always had good luck using the RB turbo back pre silencer, its 3" straight thru, QUIET, and its available just as a muffler now, for like $90.

on a turbo FC you use that, and anything you want in the rear and its streetable

the other "good" setup, since you're na, is to run a dual outlet header, to 2 2"-2.5" glasspacks, the longer the better, like 40" long. into a collector, and a single 3" straight thru muffler.

the key for power is to have it straight thru

how much sound muffling would the glasspacks actually give me? AFAIK this car is going to have to be my DD in a few months,(long story) so id like for the setup to be as streetable as possible.

how do you think it would be with one 30" glasspack and one muffler?

ok. plan b to that would be to get 2 RB 2.5" presilencers and a turbo muffler, that works really well

hrmmm. if im going to have to end up spending that much on it i minus well go for the whole schebang. (two mufflers that exit center on the rear, at a little more then license plate frame distance) would i still need two presilencers or just one for that?
