I never really thought about it, but as i was finally putting in the right tranny mount, I saw a whole bunch of connections on the tranny that I haven't connected yet. What are they for? not the speedo cable put the other 5 or so...

 

i know one is the ground wire from the batt term. when i had my clutch put in the moron forgot to reground the tranny wire so my car was starting off the bat. the check engine light came on and my tach kept falling to 0 but the car would still be running all that just cause the wire was not connected right

 

I found out that they are for the reverse lights, and letting the ECU know you're in 5th gear, which i think is for the airpump, which injects air only in 5th gear.

 

Also the neutral switch

 

i suspect the 5th gear wire is also so the ecu doesnt do the shift up light in 5th

 

they also share a common ground with other things....ive seen some of those wires get ripped, and it disabled all dummy lights...everything cept RPM
