I thought the bottom and top pieces where attached, and break easily. am I off here?

yah, that thing is 2 pieces, but they are sold together as one piece. mazdatrix lists them for $13, thats cheap

I think those vents are called Demister grills..... good thing I got that covered! :bigthumg:

Yea, he's right....I couldnt tell from the pics...you DO need those because they direct the defroster to your side windows for defrosting, lol...but they break VERY easily...and can be found at a junk yard or mazdatrix.
