Ahhh.... now we get the truth!

If you bent the metal up, you'll need to get it back in shape or no gasket is going to fix the leak. It really depends on how much its bent. Is the pipe bent, or just the flange?

If the exhaust is in good shape, you can surely salvage it. You might just get a shop to fix it for you, if it's going to need more than just a gasket.

yeah the exhuast is in good shape. just the part near where the header pipe connets is where i think a bolt or some thing holding them together got bent and came off. there is a small gap between them. should i just go to a auto shop and let them weld it together? or just buy some sort of gasket or some headers system to replace it.

i scrape my exhaust too much.

gaskets never last.

im about to pay someone to weld it together.

haha, before my car died, I had just paid a shop to add in another flange connection.

With it all welded together it was a serious bitch to remove or install.

I say either take it to a shop or post a nice clear picture of the connection in question!

It's really hard to offer advice without knowing what the damage looks like. If you're just missing a bolt, then a new gasket and bolts should fix it, but that's assuming the flanges and pipe are in good shape.

but where? im scraping the front flange on my rb presilencer i think, im pretty sure.

not much room for a flex in the header in front of that?

Rob x-7 02-13-2008 07:31 AM

I know they make short ones, I have one on my DP.

if you weld it the whole thing will probably end up breaking anyhow.

Maybe you can get a short one to go forward of the presilencer , might have to cut it down.

everything is good from the muffler tip all the way to where it hits the headers. you get me.. right there is where it is bent and has a gap between it. i think one or two bolts came off during the impact of the curb. can i just take it to the shop and tell them to weld the headers to the pipe where it connets the pipe towards the gasket.

RyoNishi 02-14-2008 03:27 PM

come on rotary dudes. help me out here. could i just weld it together. (the headers flange to exhuast flange or pipe)

Baldy 02-14-2008 03:44 PM

Sure, why not?

can i? will that solve the leak between it? if it do ill weld it together instead of buying a whole new exhuast system.
