I have the chance to buy another 87 RX-7, but this one has a rebuilt engine and an 80 shot of nitrous Oxide hooked up to it, but he has never used it yet. The newly rebuilt engine has 2,200 miles on it, and I am not really sure if I am going to get rid of the nitrous, or if I am just going to turn it down to a 35 shot. But if there are any specific things that I should be looking for on the car, I am using this car for the engine, not as a whole car. If you guys have any advice or anything that could help me out at all then I would really appreciate it. Thanks alot.

Well who rebuilt it? If mazda did it, there would be a blue tag on the front cover, under the crank angle sensor. If a tuner did it, they usually stamp the rotor housing, and sometimes paint he irons. Ask for documentiontion. But if they did it themselves, then just look for cleanlyness..

if you are able to, do a compression test, look for consistent even bounces on each rotor. also look for any leaks of any kind as well if it burns coolant or oil.

I dont know him very well, to tell you the truth I was racing him because you really dont see FC's in upstate New York that often, and we were playing around. Anyway, he destroyed me, and up the road a little ways he pulled off to the side of the road and he waved for me to do the same. He told me that he wanted to get ride of it and if I knew anyone to give him a call. So I talked it over with my dad and he said that I could do it as long as it was worth it. this is why I wanted to ask you guys if there was anything important that I should look for with the rebuilt engine. It is also street ported, header, and has the TB mod that you guys talk about. He told me that he did not use the nitrous yet because he was scared to do so. His fule was running to rich and he did not retard the timing, so he did not want to blow the motor up. If you have any more info though, I would really appreciate it.
