What Fluid To Use In Tranny?

I was wondering what you guys have used in the past, or right now that worked very well for you. I have heard that either Redline or Royal Purple frees up some lost hp in the tranny. BTW, I have a 87 5 speed. Just wondering you guys opinion on this. Thanks.
