Ok guys...I would like some advice here...

Lets just say I will be coming into a lump sum of money here in about a year or so... I currently have an 88 Vert that is in pretty good shape. I bought it close to 2 years ago with 96,000 miles on it..it currently has 111,000 on it. I use it as my daily driver because it's the only car I have right now. I have been very interested in setting it up with a TII swap, and getting some type of porting done to a jspec engine (was thinking bridgeport https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub... ) but who knows. I would basically just dump all the money I would have into the car giving it a complete makeover and wanting to get somewhere around 500 horses out of it. Do you think this is what i should do, or should I invest my money into an FD? Maybe get a blown engine FD and fix it up, or buy a really nice FD with lots of Mods already? I would really appreciate the advice. I really want to have something unique and original for everyone to jealous of.... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

Comitatus 12-10-2002 09:56 AM

Oh yeah forgot to mention, If I did all that work to my Vert, I would basically only bring her out on weekends and on nights of fun.... :bigok:

1Revvin7 12-10-2002 10:03 AM

FD. or 3-rotor fc.

treceb 12-10-2002 10:23 AM

3 rotor, triple turbo SA.

ChainSawOnSteroids 12-10-2002 10:27 AM

FC baby go with the FC

j9fd3s 12-10-2002 10:56 AM

i would do a t2 swap in the vert, spend about half (or less of your money)and save the rest

I'd save that money for retirement and pretend like it doesn't exist until I'm old and grey. The earlier you can retire, the earlier you can enjoy it. With that cash socked away, I'd still play with my car on my current budget.

Erik 12-10-2002 12:09 PM

jerkracer has a good idea...

maybe spend a little on the FC, but mod it too much and you;re just gonna have headaches trying to make it run the way you want

imho an FD isn't worth it...if anything i'd buy a supra for that money... :bigthumg:

ILUVMY88CABRIO 12-10-2002 02:22 PM

Use it as a down payment on a house.

Hell, yes! If you are paying rent, go buy a house. There is nothing you can do with that money that will safely give you the kind of return that a well-chosen house will. Get one with a nice garage!

Comitatus 12-10-2002 02:57 PM

I would be just graduating college in about a year...And the first year out...Ill be living at home..cuz i have a sweet house and to save on living costs...so i wouldnt be paying rent...only thing i would have to pay for would be my car insurance and paying off my school loans...

So thats basically why I want to focus this money on the 7....I obviouslly dont have to spend it all at once..but there are some nice shops around that can tune cars pretty good....so I figured the engine will be running perfectly...

Thanks for the input...keep it up...sometimes I LOL on your replies..but at least they make for good entertainment...

Travisty 12-10-2002 03:06 PM

i like the house idea

get a nice garage so you can work on the vert in comfort

Erik 12-10-2002 03:07 PM

Supra Supra Supra! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png haha, ok i'll stop now, lol

sunshine 12-10-2002 03:28 PM

Invest it... there is absolutely no reason for you to blow the whole amount on stupid toys. Spend a little of to have some fun, but save the majority. Trust me, if your just about to get out of school...there will be plenty of rainy days ahead. I just got out, class of 2001. And work sucks. I miss college.

Cheers! 12-10-2002 03:31 PM

downpayment on second house or firzt house or condo...

j9fd3s 12-10-2002 03:40 PM

yah work sucks, go on vactation for a year

75 Repu 12-10-2002 03:41 PM

investing sounds good.. or you can go on a pilgrimage to visit all the strip clubs in the world..

75 Repu 12-10-2002 03:45 PM

or you could pay off the loans with that money and have your regular money go to your car..

VII13B 12-10-2002 04:08 PM

Use it to buy an investment property. Stay at home with your folks and let the rent coming in pay off the house for you while your living at home with your oldies for free.

CrazyAssRX7 12-10-2002 05:44 PM

why not just sell the car you have now and get a 3rd gen???

save the rest though

j9fd3s 12-10-2002 05:54 PM

why dont you upolster the seats with all that green

mike

SoniX 12-10-2002 06:03 PM

I have the best idea yet, give me the money, I will take good care of it, or at least 3 grand, hey, you can spare that much right?

Apex13B 12-10-2002 09:48 PM

Dude....stay with the FC...get a badass paintjob...**** that jspec crap....Put a twinturbo FD motor in it..give it a motec m4 pro uprated turbos and injectors and 350hp...you now have 10,000 dollars in you bank accout (for rent) that you can get a apt with a garage

Comitatus 12-10-2002 09:49 PM

okay..now that I have tons of Ideas...Let's try to focus on if you were going to spend a lot of that money on a 7 or upgrading one...What would you do?

Apex13B 12-10-2002 09:50 PM

i have an apt. you can rent out :evildeal:

Apex13B 12-10-2002 09:51 PM

upgrade your vert!

Shakenbake 12-10-2002 11:39 PM

i like apexz idea

stay with the fc

'79rx7 12-11-2002 12:17 AM

Maybe Erik should sell his Rx-7, and buy a supra. WTF

Rotary Power all the way, f*ck a supra

SpecialT 12-11-2002 09:26 AM

Buy a house, rent it out to pay the morgage, use it's equity as

collateral to buy a TII motor . . . .

rotary>piston 12-11-2002 10:06 PM

dump money into the car, go with a tII or 3 rotor fc, and spend the rest on a hydraulic lift for you garage.

Apex13B 12-11-2002 10:14 PM

what ever you do.....stay FC...im ******* hardcore fc lol

no

pengaru 12-12-2002 01:57 AM

if you must buy a car:

fd, nsx, or a supra

or just save most of it and turbo your vert and setup a pimpy garage.
