Please post what pads you are running and your experience with them. (ie Effectiveness, Fading, Dusting)

Also post what your use isIE, sreet only, street + autocross, Street + Track, track only) Thanks John

I am in the final Stages of parts gathering for the GFH and need to decide what brakes to order. EBC, Hawk etc.

Hawk HP+

The goods:

No fading, they bite hard and just stop the car quick. I use them for my variety of stuff i do. Track, street and autocross.

The Bads:

They dust alot, and for some strange reason when using the pads with brand new Brembro rotors they make alot of noise, high pitch noise like i was a garbage truck with worn out pads. When I swap back to the original worn out mazda rotors, the noise dissappeared. I'm very tempted to sell my brembro rotors and get the more expensive OEM from mazda.

My friend gene, had EBC and they didnt' last long on the track.

I'm about to buy a set of these, PM me if you want to sell them.

After some research, I think I am going with either Porterfield R4S or Hawk Blue for the street and Hawk HP+ for the track.

what make are the rear rotors? brembo does not make xdrilled or slotted rear rotors.

they make them for FDs and FD rotor is exactly teh same as FC front rotor. the rears are different story, ebay stuff is usually just reworked rear blanks.

anyhow...

i run HPS

street and autox... actually they aren't installed yet... actually they aren't even ordered yet.

i'm running brembo xdrilled fronts since i got htem dirt cheap and canadian tire (autozone) rear blanks.

in my opinion... a rotor is a rotor.

silkworm from rx7club.com races his ITS preped s4 NA FC in NASA with autozone rotors and Hawk Blue or blacks... ican't remember... if its good enough for him... its more then good enough for my street/autox TII

there are guys who drill and slot the rotors then sell them like that.

I have Axxis metal masters with powerslot rotors myself, only street use

though, they seem to be a good setup.

I have Hawk HPS and Brembo OE rotors on the front. Then its the same pad on the factory rotor in the rear. Its funny how the front brakes run cooler than the rears now.

hawk HPS for street autox is a great setup.....get rid of the drilled rotors. A drilled rotor will crack, every hole is a stress riser, you will never see a race car with them anymore. slotted only is the way to go, they sweep away the gases, instead of letting the pads outgas thru the vents and dust like a **********er
