sounds like the speed wire from the gauge cluster is bad, mine had a break in it and made the the same beeping noise

that could be possible as well...sometimes when i gun itfrom 30mph , it'll take like either maybe 2-3seconds or me to let off the gas for the needle to go to the correct speed...but thats only for low speed though...and it happens maybe once in a while

That is something else, it shouldnt take 2-3 seconds, maybe one second behind your actual speed......

yea...ill prolly have it checked out soon...btw i had one other question....my tranny grinds when i sometimes shift to 3rd gear...do u think i need a new tranny or could it be the shifter itself? (because the shifter has more play than my best friends rx7, and he has the same year as mine only his is a gxl) i know this topic is for the beeping noise but i guess i rather kill two birds with one stone.

Sincros are probably out in it, my was rebuilt about 25k ago, and it grinds in third. New shifter wouldnt hurt anything, or just replace the bushings in your stock one.

cool thanks ill do that...well i definitley know its the power steering because sometimes when i take a turn, the beeping stops for like 2min and then it goes on again...(or my favorite, drive 30mins home from work hearing that beeping noise and it finally goes away as soon as i park on my driveway lol)...yea if its prolly that then ill just get it rebuilt and ill put a short shifter and bushings in myself...ok one more question i promise...one last headache...my windshield wipers...hi and regular work, but intermediate doesnt work as good. It will do like one wipe and then it will freeze up untill i put the regular or high wiper setting...my dad said that it could maybe be a recall mazda had on the 87's...is that true and is there some way to fix it?

No recall on wipers, all of them have the issue eventualy. You can try and resolder it or buy a new switch.

The beeping should go away when you stop moving.... since your power steering is speed sensitive.... get a wiper switch from an s5 car they are a lot less likely to have the infamous problem

cool..ima have to try and do that then...ok i think i finally figured out why the car is beeping...i forgot to mention that i was trying to install a aftermarket steering wheel (which did not really go so well aka didnt fit) so i put the stock one back on...maybe the steering sensor or something is out of alignment and i gotta take off the steering wheel and line it back up...this would make sense since the car didnt make the noise b4 until i tried to put on the aftermarket steering wheel...hmmm i should prolly try to look at it today...
