Well I THOUGHT all the Rotaries had interchangable Water Pumps.

Is the S4 really different than the S5?

I have a S4 and the pump I have hits the front cover. It's a Turbo pump (extra outlet at the bottom of the pump) but must be a S5.

Anyone have a good S4 Pump for cheap? I need the whole thing.

It's the entire housing that is hitting the front cover when I slide it on. I still can't believe that Mazda changed the design in 89?

Just goto autozone and order a proper pump, they're not expensive.

Why not?

There's a lot of things redesigned on the engine and on the car.

The pump is the same.

It's the wear part that most stores have.

The housing is different.

Next time you will know the keep the housing with the engine.

Huh? The water pump bolt pattern is slightly different, and it doesn't swap very easily.
