I need to replace my water pump and I had planned on replacing it when I did the motor rebuild, but I just found out that my mom is going to be moving in the next 30 days or so. I was wondering if I'd be able to replace the water pump without having to pull the motor? I've tried some searching, and maybe it's just common sense, but I don't know. :/

wow, that looks pretty sweet! would you suggest getting that as the package instead of a replacement pump from advance auto parts or something (http://www.partsamerica.com/productd...ype=54&PTSet=A for example)

I'm just wondering if the housing can usually be corroded as well (I'm pretty sure that the pump propeller or whatever it's called is corroded from tap water being used in the coolant system)...

yes the housing can definetly get corroded, check out the list price of mazdatrix of that assembly

http://mazdatrix.com/getprice.asp?partnum=15-010C-8AF2

now you realize why that auction is an incredible deal!

ps. buying just the water pump only from somewhere will cost almost the same as that auction for the ENTIRE ASSEMBLY! so i say, why not just buy the whole thing?
