The car has been in a garrage for the last 2 months and the other day I noticesd that the drivers side floor was wet https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png is this where the heater core usualy leaks to??? could it be something else?? .........................Mostly how hard is it to replace the heater core and where under the dash is it located? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/unsure.png

If it dont stink like antifreeze then its probably just a water leak. I dont think the heater core will dump water there, but I could be wrong.

ive never seen an fc dump water out of the heater core before, its possible but usually they have a slow leak? could it be water from the ac condenser?

plus the condensor is on the passenger side .. lol ripped that sucker out not too long ago..

JerryLH3 05-04-2003 04:16 PM

The condensor is in front of the radiator. The evaporator is in the dash on the passenger side.

The heater core is more towards the middle of th dash, unsure where it would dump to if it began to leak.

On a side note, my mom's Mustang just had the heater core go out at 60k miles (wonderful, huh?). Good thing it was under warranty - and a good thing it has it's own little weep hole that drains out the firewall instead of the interior.

My car is doing this also, I was wondering what was making my carpet soakin wet. I cleaned it out but it's startin to get wet again. I just hope that heater cores aren't to expensive and that I don't have to remove most of my dash to replace it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

My bad I didn't read, you have no AC.... huh...... Well tear her apart!

Rob x-7 05-06-2003 07:58 PM

you would know if its your heater core going bad, it would smell like

anti freeze. Just feel it and see if its slimy like anti freeze and smell

it as well.

j9fd3s 05-06-2003 08:51 PM

you also would be losing it from the engine

mike

sidewinderx7 05-07-2003 05:41 PM

Its like gooey... i personally dont think its water. Cause when we touched it, it was slimey and then it made your fingers really sticky. But it didnt smell like antifreeze.

Quit jacking off in the car. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png

jcyrx7 05-07-2003 07:10 PM

with the heater core leaking.......what would be some problems i could run into(besides losing coolant) and does anyone know about how much a new one will run me?

your car will overheat, and sometimes the coolant comes out the

vents and fogs the inside of the car REALLY bad where you cant

see where you are going. At that point it usually dumps a **** load

of coolant on the floor and sometimes onto people's feet buring them, lol.

You can by-pass the heater core for now, just connect the heater hoses together under the hood, you have to take the dash out

to change it so its not so much as the price of the part

but rather it takes a while to put one in.
