I've got an s4, And I've fixed most of the quirks by now. However, it still handles a bit sloppy. I want to get the thing set up for drifting, as there are drifting events in my area. however, Since I'm still new to rx's and have mostly just been driving old classics with too much horsepower, I'm somehwhat in the dark when it comes to suspension and the like on cars like these.



Like I tell most people.. if you want something done right, you've got to do it right, which is why price really isnt an object when I say I want it to be good.



I've already got a jdm clip coming from a 90 tII that I'm putting in my s4.



Other then that.. what should I get to put on the car?

TEIN makes a good suspension setup for FC's

i roll cage if your planning on doing any real drifting. but if your just starting and will be practicing in parking lots at low speeds. you'll be fine. seats and 4 point harness will help keep you still when going sideways. and some front and rear strut bars are nice and cheap and help kick out those rear wheels...

I'm in the process of leaning out the car, and putting an fd rearend in the car. It will be caged, and I've got to find a place I can practice at where I wont get ticketed too much.

i accually have a FD LSD here im not using. 100 plus shipping let me know. oh...and just incase you probly already know but. it wount fit in the N/A housing. only TII.

I'm gathering parts for my tII swap. Or would it be easier to get a tII car and just build from there?

most likely. but finding a real TII around me is pretty hard. maybe its easier for you to get one. but just add the price for motor, tranny, axles, diff, driveshaft, 5 lug swap (if you dont already have it) and whatever else to make it work. or even if you could locate all these parts. what year and model 7 you have???



you have to see what you can get your hands on and how much your willing to fork out for it. maybe buying a TII is better. maybe worse...

Okay. I've got an 86. 5lug already. I've already have axles, tranny, motor, need driveshaft and I'm buying a rear diff from someone on here. The motor and tranny I'm getting is in an S5 clip, which will give me the hood and everything I need there to make it rhd.



I'm sure it'd be cheaper for me to get a TII but I still want a rhd car, so, in the long run a jdm clip will make me happier.

Coilovers, solid bushes, more steering lock, 0 - 1deg negative rear camber, 0deg rear toe, 3deg neg front camber, 0deg front toe (or 0.1 inwards), welded diff or a 2-way mechanical LSD like kaaz etc (not standard shite). Bucket seat, harness, cage, low profile tyres that you can get hold of easily and cheaply.



Would be best to practice on proper drift days rather than in parking lots. And parking lots are often just for the extreme basics not proper drifting - and if you are only learning the basics now then you shouldn't be worrying about tuning your car - a standard RX7 with a decent locking LSD or preferably welded/2way will drift better than most people in the first 6 months AT LEAST.



Don't know if yours is N/A, but if so then I can see you wanting more power after a little while and keep skinnyish tyres like 195s/205s at 50psi in the rear, 28-32psi in the front.

i see to have success with my N/A drifting things i feel the car needs to upgrade in order to slide are ....New sway bars , coilovers dont hurt , LSD with good fluid....find a way to cool her off better im using electric fan from a lincon town car w/ the fat radiator ...TIRES lol get some unsprung weight from lighter rims ....and lastly brake kit i perfer slotted rotors and endless pads, and replace stock exhaust as it overheats much to easy ( i like straight pipes thru and thru) ...those things listed are a must ....it also doesnt hurt to have a short shifter ...and a great driveline (light flywheel, sticky clutch) and if you decide to get rid of that N/A motor i may buy it cuz i think its funny to slide N/A
