hey guys, i was wondering what the heck is going on with this damn thing. I need to know what connects to what with a on/off switch involved. I thought I got it all hooked up right the first time. I wired in a switch to cut the fuel pump off when it floods so i dont have to pop my hood and pull the EGI fuse out all the time. good idea if you know what the heck your dogin i guess ...lol so if anyone can me please that would be great.

thanks,

Rich

are you running that fuel pump with stock injectors and no turbo or serious mods?.... if so then the best thing to do would be to get a fuel pressure regulator... that would help a little bit... but it still shouldnt flood. i have a walbro 255 gph pump with stock injectors and a fuel press regulator for right now... no flooding probs. at all... but for a switch? what do you mean... you hooked up a switch to the fuel pump itself so you can turn it on and off manually? what do you mean what connects to what? you mean as far as wich wire?

please know what youre saying before giving OTHER people advice...especially money wasting advice.

You dont need an aftermarket FPR to have a walbro in your tank.

An FPR also wont prevent flooding.

Flooding is caused by either you turning the key on without turning the engine on and letting the pump run for those 4 seconds before cranking it, or from a leaking injector, or from stalling your car, or multiple other things.

An FPR doesnt solve those problems.

As for the switch, I wouldnt **** around with the wiring inside your gas tank, those connections are made specifically to prevent possible sparking, because obviously "spark = kaboom goes your car.".

There's a wire under your dash you can tap into, there have been multiple write-ups on this forum about it. There might be a topic in the FAQ Forum, in fact ill even do the searching for you, ill post back here in a minute.

found this info for the kill switch, after about a 10 second search and getting up to grab a soda:

"run a on-off switch to the blue wire in the set of wires that is to the right of the steering column, one side of the plug is yellow if I remember right and there is like 6-8 wires in the set. Snip the blue wire, run it to the on off switch, then run a length of wire back to the blue wire in the plug from the on off switch."

I said screw the switch becuase that obviously made things more difficult. There is 2 volts going through the fuel pump wiring system (4 wires) I was wondering if that was normal.

I still need to know why my fuel pump is not working. not sure which wire is which ,and if its connecting to the right wires. The walbro fuel pump only came with 2 wires (red, black) from the fuel pump to the sending unit. I have a Haynes manual that is telling me it could be at least 2 problems it could be....

1: pressure sensor

2: fuel pump resistor relay

I just need to figure this out and my car will run agian.

Any more help would be great.

And thank you for the help you have already giving.

figured out it isnt either one of the 2 i mentioned above.

still dont know what the heck happend with my car, and now im getting worried if i'll ever make the damn thing run agian. this is the first time anything this bad happend to my car.I took out the EGI control unit (located on the passenger side floor under the piece of sheet metal) that also may be blown but i have know lcue if anything is wrong with it at all. I think the whole fuel pump wiring system is blown or whatever. which i may re-wire the entire system, if thats the case. I'll do that and see if it works then. If not i'll take clear pictures of my wiring and see if any of you rotary fanitics can help me out at all. I am determind to get this job done. even if i have to re-wire my whole car! hahaha

on that note....it has been raining for 10 days now....
