Wait For R-magic Parts?
#1
I really wanted the relay cover, but local sources were out of stock, and i'm too impatient to wait around for months, so what the hell, i'll make it myself.
The piece is coming along nicely, but I ran out of hardware and so i'll have to finish it up tomorrow...
Here's a shot of the progress so far

some guy on "the other forum" sells those covers, and he uses "water cutting" to cut your name and whatever else you want on the panel.
i think someone on this board has one of his. they look pretty sweet, nicely polished but i think you can just paint it if it fits you that way.

I can make them out of fiberglass, I have a template already
just a word of advice- make sure you screw/bolt it down, otherwise it can move around a bit and not let the hood open properly, it happened to Jim/13Bace and he had to wrestle the thing around a bit to work.

Yeah, bolted down for sure, I think I laid out 14 holes to attach it to the chassis.
I will probably use this one as a template and make another one, all one piece, this stuff is to easy to work with, files easy, no paint necessary, flame polish the edges. I made some delron skid plates for the FEED lip too, just forgot to take snapshots of them.

It works slick, no problems, clearances are great.
I thought it might be a problem earlier, thats where the idea of the template came up so i could make another one in thinner material, but this one works well in this size and stays really rigid.
Boxing that area in really help the intake aspet as far as cooling goes, even at idle it will suck the ashes off a marlboro at a foot away.
