How many of you 2nd gen owners with the under-drive pulley have had problems with your voltage dropping down low when the car is just idling? I didn't have this problem untill I installed the pullies on my car, BTW they are RB. My voltage drops down to 8 - 9 volts. :frown:

I have the RB pulleys, but my voltage doesn't go that low.

If you are using the 86-88 alternator, they suck. Upgrade to a 89+ at least and you'll see your problems dissappears. I have minimal lost. I just increase the rpm by 100 and is ok now.

I felt that is was worth the $130 I spent on them (I have the alt. and the eccentric pulleys ). Noticed a dif. mainly when I was on the freeway. Hell I've spent $130 on a lot worse.

Yes I was just going by the factory gauge. Plus my radio would shut off, dash lights get really dim, heater fan slows way down. I thought about adjusting my idle. I think on payday I'll go buy an Optima battery. Thost things kick ***! This is my only car I have not had one in it. It just sucks they are $120. :frown: Maybe I'll look into a 89 - 92 alt.

****!!! Now my piece of **** battery is dead :madgo: I just got back to work from taking my dinner break, and realized my window wasn't up. I had do do a god damn compression start just to roll up my window!! That is the first time that my battery has gone dead. ****!!!! :madgo:

Maybe your battery terminals are bad?

Everything worked fine untill I put on the eccentric pulley. That is when my voltage started to drop. Couldn't imagine my battery terminals going bad all of a sudden (right after putting on the pulley). I think that I'll bump up my idle to 900 -1000 rpm for now. Untill I get my optima.
