what are the visual differntis between s4 and s5 turbo motors ??? and what are the turbo numbers i have a ht18 is that s4 or s5 ?

 

both fc turbos are ht-18. the if you look at the manifold to turbo flange the s5 is square, and the s4 is all wierd.

 

waterpump is a good place to start, rad cap on the neck = s4, no rad cap on neck = s5.



unless pumps were switched.

wires goint to your OMP pump s5 metal rod s4, 10blade clutch fa s5 i thin the other is 8 i think on the s4

 

AFM are clear giveaways between the 2 series of engines.



s4 uses an aluminium unit. the s5 uses that rubber-ish one.

 

the AFMs are rarely still attached

 

s4 has a smaller diamter TID. S5 has square plug injector clip things. s4 has aluminum thermostat housing, while s5 has plastic. s5 has plastic pipe that the stock bypass valve goes into while the s4 one is aluminum.

 

hummm ok well the neck has the rad cap on it but the flange to the manifold is rectanlge so what do i have a s4/s5
