Some head mechanic at a local speed shop was telling me that all verts have an LSD. Any truth to that?



I want to know before I swap my LSD in my S5 vert, it'd be dumb to do if it already had one. And let's assume I have no way of testing it or looking at it.

 

mazda says no...



mazda also says all 91 coupes had no LSD...



but various people say theres verts and 91's with stock from the factory LSD. who can tell if one has been swapped in after all these years.



really...theres no real answer here. just smoke'em up and look at the tire marks

 

I'll just swap the entire rear subframes, I need all the bushings anyway.

 

I would say no. To my knowledge, the only US models that came standard with LSD was 86-88 GXL, GTU, TII, and 89-91 TII and GTUs.



I swapped out my vert's drivetrain to all TII.
