i have the air flow covered. it will pull cold air from the back of the hood by the wind sheild.

how do you plan that one

Seppuku 02-27-2004 03:59 PM

For right now it will be done by lifting the rear of the hood a little. Later on i may switch to a different hood but that all depends on if i think the increase with this setup is worth it.

Looks pretty good. I think I would put some sort of heat shield over the exhaust to deflect some of the hot air. You can prop the hood up a little bit by just loosening the bolts and adjusting it up. I would think the best way to do it would be to have a small scoop molded into the hood over the intake facing the window. But I dont' know if cost vs. hp gains would really be worth it.

hey how do u make those hood raisers like Aerodyne ones? good work i like the red 13B injection!

Isamu - im planning on making a peice to block the filter off from the heat in the bay. I just havent gotten the time to do it yet. Lots of things going on right now and im doing a little of each everyday.

Maybe you know this but there is a positive pressure differential where the hood and the windshield meet.

Take a piece of maybe 1/8"ish thick sheet of alumin and cut it to like 4"x1.5", for example, and then drill four holes corresponsding to the holes on the hood and the hinges. Depending on how far the holes on the top and the bottom are changes the height the hood will be raised.

I don't think you'll see any gains from that stock. Unless poosibly you have a setup up like Seppuku, if that even helps it.

well my setup mainly will increase response by shortening the intake line. Im not looking for any gains by colder air although i do figure it has to be better than it next to the rad. Ill find out soon when i get the extra clamps and stuff i need.

Seppuku 02-27-2004 09:41 PM

oh and on the raisers i think i measured from center to center on the bolts and it was 2 3/4"s. I'll be doing my set later im waiting to see if i like the new intake setup before i make specific parts just for it.

similar concept to a cowl hood. maybe the cone and mas could run parallel to the firewall, utilizing more of the cone's surface area. Interesting idea nonetheless.

depending on how well this works i may make a new tb elbow that comes out straight and just clamo straight to it. This is basicly just my test setup.
