I'm sure everyone has this ideal engine in their mind they'd like to build, assuming money was no object. Anyways, I remember reading about this before, and just wanted input as to what could make it better (aside from forced induction, NO2, or more rotors).
renisis high comp rotors 84-85 e-shaft, or lightened e-shaft hardened fd stationary gears ianetti ceramic apex seals fd oil pressure regulator fd front cover, or a tec3 trigger wheel? 48 ida webber style intake TII rotor housings 4-port side housings TWM throttle body (or something similar) programmable ECU Am I missing anything? I've been going over this, finding new prices vs. used, cutting costs by going carb instead, etc. The max price came to over $5k, and the minimum with carb and retaining other parts, used parts, etc. was around $2k. Sound about right? |
oh, and mucho porting
ok, mucho bridgeporto!! |
bridgeporto!
|
sounds about right... let me know if you do that and how much power you have on the ground... hp's and go power (torque).... i'd love to know it might sway me by the time i'm on my next motor... i've got about 30 on the new one and i'm getting it back in the next couple of weeks with a new tranny... and eventually i'm sure i'm gonna build another new motor and i'm not sure if i want to go atkins again or just diy becuase i can do everything else on my own

Ultimate n/a = turbo strapped on LOL
|
I am still looking forward to Pengaru's dyno #'s if he decides to dyno it. I think he has one of the best NA combos on this board.

Who knows if he will even stick through with it, he has a turbo block in his garage now...

wouldn't the ultimate n/a be an f1 engine taht is n/a? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png j/k

oh please it's getting dyno'd this spring, 1revvin7 just likes to talk **** https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png
theres an NA block in my garage too, so what? 2 actually... I'm planning on building a turbo setup but the NA setup in that car will stay at least until it's dyno tuned and driven for a while in summer, while I build up the turbo stuff. I have alot more to do on that car so the engine is staying put in the mean time. Thanks for the compliments fcmaniac, I hope it turns out well. |
sell me your engine!

This is my ultimate motor for the FC. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/boink.gif

That would be my choice if staying n/a...
|
that would be my choice if going for drag racing, and I'd boost+spray the piss out of it.
|
if we're going roadracing i want a bp or pp motor https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png , 11,000rpms > v10

I heard that the renesis e-shaft will gointo a 13b, and its lighter and balanced better than previous e-shafts.

its prolly true, it would be easy to check too. all you need is a micrometer

the only thing with an unspecified year in the list above would be the rotor and side housings. Anything post-'86 should be fine, right? Are there any differences in housings between S4 and S5? |

N/A all the way because no one likes the turbo lag.

I know the renesis E-shafts are lighter but I just don't know how much. I just called the friendly folx at Mazdatrix and they did not have one to weigh. For some reason 1 pound sticks out in my mind though.
|
So, is the general consensus that, though very cool, this hypothetical engine would be a waste to build, considering the power available in a turbo motor?
