hold up now, maybe im not thinking hard enough, but 3 of us could not figure out what you do with the TPS and the dashpot, do you swap those around or do they end up in the same place when its all done?

A) you still have a dashpot?

B) youre actually gonna make me go look at my stock TB to figure this out arent you?

if i just think quick about it, the only way to use a shorter cable is to use an FD TB, cable attachment is on non-firewall side. but i know you can use a shorter cable with the stock setup, ill actually have to go to the garage for this one, bastid.

ok, forge the dashpot for argument sake, I guess the TPS can still read correct, but I cant find a good picture of a whole throttle body to take a look

I cant look right now, my car is now at my shop

you might be able to flip the cable receiver on the shaft, i cant remember and my only stock-ish FC TB is in storage above my garage at my house, im far away from there right now, ill check tomorrow tho.

you want a ported s5 t2 TB BTW? i have one, nicely ported and polished, worked great when my car was red and running.

OMP?

geez dashpots, omps.... just premix the omp is useless and just let your housings become trash when it comes rebuild time. the injector design is crap, thats why the new 09 rx8 now has 3 oil injectors per chamber, those injectors dont allow enough oil for lubrication into the chamber

I don't understand flipping the butterflies over.. At all.. You should be able to just reclock the cable actuator on the shaft, no?

I think I used an N/A TB, stripped it, fabbed a full range TPS, and I got an FB TB cable from renns, and all I had to do was make a cable mount and all was fine.

its not the fluid thats the problem (well, clean 2-stroke from a reservoir IS better then dirty pan oil), its the overall coverage area within the chamber. the oil injectors arent capable of spraying a pattern onto the chamber, they dribble fluid out onto the middle of the housing. Thats how you get the "mohawk" effect on old housings, you'll notice only one narrow strip in the middle of the housing is clean and shows signs of proper lubing. With premix the oil coats the entire surface of the chamber since it shoots through the fuel injectors and mixes with the air fully, anywhere the air touches the oil touches and lubes the housing.

I have a basically new omp, brand new oil injectors, brand new OMP lines etc on my FD and I still premix, a lot of stock rx8 guys premix too, but someone convinced them they can only use expensive 2-stroke like idemitsu and pettit premix, i tried to convince them they can use any TCW3 2-stroke but meh.

thats my 2 cents, im a fan of premixing others aren't they say it smells etc....the oil doesnt burn, it lubricates, otherwise it'd be puffing blue smoke constantly.

I hear you, I just dont want to sit in traffic and look and smell like a weedwacker

for what little I use the car I think the OMP will be fine.

People argue thier point, but they dont fully grasp that the stock OMP system uses motor oil, which is NOT designed to burn, my set up will use 2 stroke oil, which IS.
