it has come to my attention that i will probably need a bigger turbo soon. my engine is getting rebuilt and ported. if i get a larger turbo i will go for the full streetport. other wise i'll e running a lightly ported engine with stock turbo. so i gues my eal question was what you guys have heard or think about the staged turbo upgrades offered at rx-7store.net. they seem like pretty much exactly what i'm looking for. i hardly know anything about turbos. but i know i don't have 2k to drop on the full greddy/hks setups. since i don't know much i just wanted to knw if those were good quality or if they were worth it. thanks alot

heres the site if you want to take a look

well maybe a turbo upgrade isnt even what youre after haha if your going for just some decent usable power spend your money somewhere else cause a turbo upgrade takes alot more than just slapping on a bigger turbo... i would reccomend you not getting any extreme porting, a mild street port is ALOT on even a stock t2, it really does make a huge difference and a very agressive streetport on a decent sized turbo upgrade would be quite a chore

yeah... i do have quite a few mods done that i think would support a bigger turbo though: fmic, turbo back exhaust (no cats), walbro fuel pump, koyo radiator, boost controller. but maybe you're right. i definately could spend the money other places. i figured since i was going to get it ported, i might as well go big. since i wont be pulling the engine again....hopefullly,ha.

I've never been a fan of the hybrid turbos based off the stock, but that's just me. From what I understand most people who go to a larger turbo, usually end up wanting a bigger one. For a somewhat cheaper solution, you could buy a TO4 based turbo and run the hks cast manifold which is relatively cheap compared to tubular manifolds. Then all you would need is the intercooler pipe to the fmic and an aftermarket ecu.
