Turbo Isn't Boosting Properly

the stock turbo isn't efficient at anything above 11 psi i find.



even with top mount, the boost would spike to 11 psi and it would kinda hold at 11 till around 5000 rpm when it starts to trail off and i end up at around 9 to 9.5 psi at redline.

judge ito said if you crank it past 10 psi they crap out very quickly..... he used to go thru quite a few when his rx truck had stock turbo on it lol

I worked on an eclipse with a big greddy front moutn and stock turbo. Same problem, coun't hold boost, especially at high rpm.The turbo was too small to make up for the pressure drop.

not true, some leaks only open up above certain PSI, weirdness of turbo cars

todd managed to get all 6 quarts from the pan out if the turbo in about 100yards

i only run 10+ psi when i need to show a FD guy what a S5 TII can do

heh....



I've been running .8bar on my turbo II for the last year or so. Put down 232 rwhp@11 pounds, and the turbo is still in pretty good condition.
