2) T2 is more reliable

3) A T2 with boost under 10 psi is a happy reliable T2

4) Don't boost past 10psi or you will need a new engine

I heard you can boost pass 10psi with a FCD and still be reliable?I guess the injectors might be the limiting factor to reliability tho.
above 10 psi = new motor. ask me how i know
anything speical about that new engine to handle higher boost? ..or is it just a normal 13B?

what if i were to take a street ported 13B and put some really big injectors on it, would it handle 10+ psi then?

daily drivin the turbo two...

picked up the rb full exhaust as the factory exhaust is disintegrating...

although having yet to determine to go piggyback or standalone...

its not on yet...full exhaust just provides for a domino effect...

as others have already indicated..inj..fp..wg porting..dual alt pulley..etc...etc...

lookin for stock exhaust right now to squeeze out 50k on the 115k motor....

contemplated on installin the full exh too and lay off the throttle..

but itd be hard pressed for me to lose the weight off my right foot...

I know of one TII that is daily driven, it has a high flow converter, and a RB cat back, and a FCD. I think the guy is easy on the car, but he has been daily driving it for a few years now.

My 87 TurboII was daily driven for the 2 years I had it and was still running strong at 120k miles when I sold it. The only problems I had were the tps was dirty or sticking and caused bucking on occasion. Usually a spray down with electrical parts cleaner would fix that problem for another month. The other problem was flooding. It happened only a couple times. Once actually wasnt really the flooding problem, it was failure of the cold weather starting system dumping a quart of antifreeze into the engine. I only experienced the real flooding problem once and was able to get it started without too much fooling around. Just be sure to completely warm up the car before shutting it off and it will never leave you stranded.

honestly....for a daily driven car that is fun and reliable, leave it stock. If you want to, put an intake on it for that little hp/thrill factor. Some all-season Toyo FZ4's and you have a above-par daily driver

My TII is a daily driver, and I have the folllowing mods:

DP/MP, Cat-Back, TID w/ cone filter, FCD, an accurate boost gauge (GReddy), and a Walbro 255lph pump. It's reliable as all hell as a daily driver; doesn't flood, doesn't overheat, etc. I keep my foot light on the pedal when i drive it normally, and only push it HARD every once in a while. It has, in fact, been more reliable than my convertible was. Easier to work on, too. I am going to upgrade the injectors and get a Fuel Computer this spring, just to be on the safe side, and I am porting my wastegate this week or next. I'd say get the TII as a daily, just be knowledgeable about it and don't overboost it.
