I have been wanting something different for the exhaust on my 87 FC and would like some input on an idea I had...

Racing beat road race header into an 2.5" X-pipe

Off of the x-pipe will be Dynomax resonator/muffler

Then from the Dynomax resonators/mufflers it will go to the mufflers (Magnaflow or eBay equivilant).

I plan on the whole system being 2.5" true dual (with the exception of the header tubing of course).

I think this system would sound excelent and with the use of individual resonators/mufflers on each pipe I think it would keep a nice mellow tone also.

Anyone done this or heard a similar set up before? I have head Racing Beats Road Race true dual that they make for the FC, but I was thinking I could get this setup build for less and still sound just as good.

I just did an X pipe on car, and I now I'm very curious to see how that would sound no an rx7 in the higher rpms...

I figure the x-pipe would work well as a collector While still keeping it true dual. Certainly would actually DO something when compared to a pointless H-pipe.

The Road Race system uses one merged resonator now. So the pulses equalize there

Well i did look, at the fb one and it didnt have that... I dont see on their website about the FC road race header collecting anywhere. They do now have the mid section pipes that you can bolt to the road race header that utilizes dual presilencers to keep it "true dual"...which is what I'm using on my first gen project car... but i didnt see on the road race header for the FC anywhere where it collects.. if you have a link, send it to me...
