so ever since i got it swapped, the transmissions been a little noisey, increasing in loudness lately.

right now 2nd gear sounds like hell whining/grindingish kinda noise when youre accelerating.

i filled it through the shifter neck like people say to do, but theres no way that i put in as much fluid as came out.

but everytime i checked the neck it was full.

i checked it today, and one of the bolts that bolt the plate down over the shifter sheared itself, and now this 2nd gear noise is worse.

could that be making it sound like hell? im thinking theres not enough fluid either, but i dont know how else to fill it.

if i fucked this one up ive got 2 spares, but im hoping its fixable.

any ideas?

Your cant fill the tranny through the shifter hole..

You gotta fill it through the fill plug above the drain plug.

Replace the tranny, its damaged.

i think i mistook people saying you could fill the fill hole from above the tranny through the shifter cutout as, you can fill the tranny through the shifter neck.

i'd say this proves my dumbassness. doh. atleast i have a spare.

Fill it properly (from under the car), then see how it sounds. It might be driveable, and sound fine. That'd be a lot easier than just swapping the tranny right away.

bolt came off like cake, filled her up.

noise is gone

well, it doesnt make any more noise then it did before i swapped it over.

so i think its okay for now, but i wont be getting rid of the spare anytime soon just incase.

also, if you havent already, buy the $8 thing that screws onto the bottle and pumps it in for you. so much easier.

i hate gear oil.

hahaha, thats awesome.

Actually i think i had a mechanic do the some thing to me once with my DSM. I didnt have time to replace my clutch so i paid to have it done, wont do that again. I got the car back and drove it around for a week and noticed the tranny felt notchy. Checked the fluid level at the fill hole and i couldnt see any fluid, so i thought, maybe its just low. I had to completely fill it up. Tranny was fine though, thank god, because i didnt have a spare!
