What's the top speed on the stock second gens? GTU? GTUs? TII?

120 mph, but my drivetrain losses have to be like 35% since my driveshaft ujoints are bad.
i could push it harder, but going over 90 mph turns my car into a giant rotary powered vibrator, so i'd like to avoid doing that. |
thought it was 145 for a t2

I have taken the Vert up to 120MPH in fourth gear.. I never put 5th in but I know I could have gotten another 20MPH out of her at least..

I've never tried my n/a, it gets to scary around 100 https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.png . Shakes like crazy, I need suspension/alignment/bushings/tires.

Mine was pretty steady thank to the extra weight.. I can still switch lanes with confidence at 100MPH..

i had a tll couple months ago and i went to 15 and everthing was stock
the gxl goes to 120 but i dont about the gtu maybe 10 15 miles more |
GTU has a higher final drive though. I actually loose speed when I change from fourth to fifth. I got my car up to 127. That's about when I start to really get scared. Mostly from the law, however, even though I'm pretty much fucked if I get caught either way.

I've had my TII up over 140 a couple times, and I'm sure it still had some room to breathe.

This is not top speed but my 87 GXL is as smooth as can be at 110 mph. Had her there this morning.

I think FC's are geared to go to 200mph...

TII's are geared for about 160-170 at redline in 5th.

I have had my '87 TII up to 134, that's in 5th gear. I think I shifted too early, prolly could get more out of it if I would've left it in 4th for longer. Funny thing is my car was really shaky at 90mph but at 130 it was silky smooth.

i usually drive around 160-180km/h (god bless radar detectors and laza cops) |
the gearsplit software says:
Pegged in 5th (8k) with a 3.90 rear end a FC will do 190-195 mph you'll need about 400-500hp |
i have done 120 i know it could have gone farther but i was worried about cops

My GXL topped out at 122. And when I had my t2 I hit 138 but i had to brake for a turn, it was still pulling pretty good though. I bet a t2 could hit about 150.

I believe 146 is the top end for a stock T2. I don't go any faster in mine than it can reach at the end of the quarter-mile--currently right at 100. I've had my license a long time and I plan on keeping it.

I'v pushed my gtu to 130-135 and it is a smooth ride.

ive gone 140 a bunch of times with no problem in my stock 87 n/a, and thats the truth

When my TII was stock, I hit about 140 on the way to the airport to drop my roommate off. It still had a little left, but I had to turn into the parking lot...The vert I had did about 125 before I had to slow down because of a cop on the PA Turnpike. I'm sure it would have gone a little more, maybe 5-10.

i really did because the shift light came on the first time when i did that at 3.5k... so i figured hey thats cool

As i wrote last year when i got busted.I was in the gxl--139--that was after i let out going down a hill and the trooper clocked me!

the fastest i have ever went in my 86 gxl was 120. i will probably never go that fast agian.
