sidewinderx7 06-07-2003 11:39 PM

Nothing... except a bridge port and nitrous.

Joe Flo 06-07-2003 11:51 PM

Which ones.....their are so many https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683561.gif

pengaru 06-07-2003 11:55 PM

i don't know **** about those cars, the only thing i know is it's a FWD setup with RWD tacked on so they suck in my book.

djgiantrobot 06-08-2003 12:15 AM

awd roxors ur soxors, heh i had fun building this car and its fast and therefore does not "suck in my book"

pengaru 06-08-2003 12:18 AM

I give you props for building the car, but the platform is still shitty and sucks in my book https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/tongue.png

BTW, AWD is cool, I just don't like the implementation in the talon/eclipse.

TheCamel 06-08-2003 12:31 AM

AWD is easy to launch but the drivetrain loss sucks.

Streetrally 06-08-2003 12:47 AM

Port that mo'... or run straight exhaust... or do the throttle body mod... or all the above

I think you forgot to finish building it!

rmaiersg 06-08-2003 11:59 AM

If you want speed and you're gonna take out the engine anyways you might as well go turbo.

1Revvin7 06-08-2003 12:21 PM

Just get nitrous, cheapest, easiest way to get more hp...

ILUVMY88CABRIO 06-08-2003 12:34 PM

You can dump tons of money into a NA, and it'll still be pretty slow (ask me how I know https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...>/rolleyes.gif ). Granted "NAWS" will help you gain some hp, but turbos are SO much more fun.

And remember...

jcyrx7 06-08-2003 05:40 PM

yea its arleady been rebuilt and street ported, and i have a full exhaust except the header, cuz i was told that the header would cause probs with it bein efi and stuff. so im gonna get nos.........but theres another prob im only 16 therefore i cant but it and my parents are crack *****s. even if i had the money they wouldnt let me get it. sucks i want the zex system. i read somewhere on this board that i could run a 50 shot and be fine but if i wanted to bump up to a 75 id have to get a better furl pump and regulator i think

lol, good one. That was the night we finished doing the piping for the front mount, it was 3am and raining so we didn't feel like spending the extra time to trim the bumper and put it back on. Without the bumper, on the highway in the rain the car never even reached operating temp after 45minutes of driving. The car has a bumper now but its not finished as nothing ever is.

[QUOTE]"Ametures don't use nitrous oxide! I've seen the way you drive, you have a heavy foot. You'll blow yourself to pieces!"

That movie sucks.

Anyway you can't be too diissapointent, those DSM bastards get their parts a dime a dozen and with 3 grand they can run mid 13's. (seen it).

jcyrx7 06-08-2003 06:08 PM

yea thats what i was gonna get.....a 91-94 talon tsi, but then came along insurance and shot me down in flames....so i ended up gettin the 7 and now its too slow.....so ima have to get nos asap https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683329.gif

scubasteve 06-08-2003 06:10 PM

How much nitrous can a stock 13B take anyway?

jcyrx7 06-08-2003 06:22 PM

i have no clue.....mines been ported and ish. i read that a 50shot is fine and a 75shot is ok but you have to get a better fuel pump and regulator

LOL...hang in there man...if you have a street port and the eclipse pulled on you it must have been turbo...either that or your car isn't running properly...

My neighboer had an all stock 98 GSX and it would blow the doors off my n/a...But this girl I knew had a non-turbo 98 Eclipse OZ edition...WOW did it SUCK! lol. My measly n/a would pull on it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

Do you have any other FC's in the area to compare your car to?

Yes, too bad we have both had to learn that lesson https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...O_DIR#>/11.gif

rmaiersg 06-08-2003 09:40 PM

Use water injection with NOS. Increase engine reliability. You can get a whole kit for 200 bucks too.

jcyrx7 06-08-2003 10:59 PM

what are you talking about . i've never heard of that please elaborate https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683894.gif

1Revvin7 06-09-2003 12:12 AM

aquamist makes a water injection kit, I plan on running that this summer. I don't know why you would use it w/ nitrous tho, I mean nitrous will cool the air intake mix greater than water injection. Water injection is usually used on turbocharged engines to cool the intake charge, to prevent detonation, n/a(s) don't have that problem...

'79rx7 06-09-2003 04:43 AM

I can't belielve you lost to an elclipse even a turbo model, it must have been built or your car is slow, my '79 with a stock '86 engine outran a slightly modified awd eclipse with turbo; he got me off the line but once we got moving I caught and passed him.

odd... https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/blink.png

jcyrx7 06-09-2003 08:45 AM

YEA BUT UR 79 IS ALOT LIGHTER

FCmaniac 06-09-2003 12:28 PM

NA 2nd gens are slow but I'm curious what a good set up with tuning like Pengaru's or Kahren's would run in the quarter... maybe with some miata gears and GTUs ring and pinion.

And water injection helps get rid of any carbon deposits.

jcyrx7 06-09-2003 11:03 PM

o....

MazdaEnthused 06-09-2003 11:41 PM

see i'm one that wouldn't run any kind of nos utill i was set up to run it i don't know if this is wrong but i see nos as a Cheat... like one you use cause you can't beat a game

pengaru 06-10-2003 11:30 AM

I see it as just another fuel you inject that has nice properties, and it definitely is not cheating since anyone can get it and use it on their car, it's fair game. just my $.02

MazdaEnthused 06-10-2003 11:38 AM

no its cool i respect ur opinions its cool i can't tell you that your wrong i can't tell anyone that they are wrong opinions arn't wrong

13_b_kid 06-12-2003 01:14 PM

how hard is it to covert to turbo from n/a https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...R#>/unsure.png

MazdaEnthused 06-12-2003 01:53 PM

uh to what i hear you can't or its EXTREMELY an ass pain

GarageBoy 06-12-2003 07:08 PM

Swap them out with a lot of stuff to put it. You might want to beef up the driveline as well

You have to swap in:

TII Engine

TII Harness

TII ECU

TII transmission

TII the rest of the drivetrain

TII Hood

And a few other things im forgetting about it.

Look in the FAQ section, i think theres a FAQ on it...

The TII hood is only needed if your using the stock ic and youd be better off going stand alone than using the stock wiring harness and ecu.
