So a stock S4 is supposed to have an 8.5 sec 0-60. My car is a little over 12 sec. My first thought was that the aux ports weren't working but I wired them open and it didnt change a thing. I am at altitude in Denver and the car is a bit heavier with my audio and a passenger, probably about 350 Lbs. Im not sure if that would do it though.

About the car:

New motor around 5000 miles

S4 end plates, streetported PICS

S5 rotors

T2 center plate, not ported

Precats gutted

New main cat - Victoria British

HKS cat back

Polished TB

Ebay Cone Filter

Thats all I can think of. All feedback appreciated.

8.5 0-60 would be in the lightest model eg no power steering / abs / elec widows or sunroof, in optimum conditions driven by a animal.

My stocker ran 12s too back 5 years ago.. I got it down to 9.8 by simply getting better tires and learning to drive better, lol. It was my first manual car..

I would 12s is normal for an aged motor/car, but with your rebuild and light mods...I can't believe it would be 12s...you should at LEAST be 9s-10s... the altitude does play a big part, but you should be able to squeeze better times. Try different launching techniques, tires, don't have a passenger w/ you, etc.

The FC wasn't engineered to be a straight line monster..it was built for the twisties...so don't get over upset that it can't go fast in a straight line. If you really want a lot of accleration on the straights..go a 75 wet shot..w/ your motor and 75shot, you should pull into the 7s 0-60...

I read somewhere that the S4 verts (NA) would do it in a little under 10, so since the coupe is lighter, and you have a new engine, 12 sounds really high. I havent specifically measured mine, but last time i drove it i think i counted to about 12 before hitting 60 and I couldnt launch cause the clutch was on its way out

Land fills often have weigh bridge for determining weight of rubbish deposited.

Lol, that's the same thing we used to do before finding a better place. Grab a trash bag..weigh it at home...go to the landfill/dump, tell them you need to throw some stuff out..watch the scale as you cross, then deduct the weight of the trash...cheap but it works.

I later found a shop that has a scale on their lift (it's an ITS shop, builds spec miatas and stuff..so i trust their scales)
