Tire Size Assistance

I recently purchased a set of (4) 17x8 +28 5Zigen FN0R1C's for the vert. I am trying to decide between a 235/40R17 or 225/45R17. I'm trying to stay under the stock fenders and the car is lowered about 1.5", I'm leaning towards the 225/45R17, but would like as much tire as possible. Thoughts?

do a 225-45 ttire. its within .06 or so of the original tires on that car. also with a 225-45 you can run a 255-40 on tththe rear as the 225-45 and 255-40 are vertualy the same outside diamiter. also if you run a full coil over suspention a 225 is as wide as you can go in the front.

Thanks!
How well will the 255/40 fit on the 8" wheel?

225-45r17 is 24.972 and a 255-40r17 is 25.031 there is only a sixteenth of an inch diffeance between the 2. you cannot see it by the naked eye. a 255-35r17 is 24.027 tall wich is almost an inch differance and you can see it by the eye and looks kinda dumb. the stock tire size is 24.684 tall. now what i run now is a 255-40r17 on a 17x9 rim up front and a 275-40r17 on a 17x10 rim now with a major fender roll.

255/40's on 18x8's all the way around. Had to roll the front fender lips with a baseball bat because the tires would catch every now and again. Eibach lowered springs, RB bars, strut brace front and rear, yadda yadda..
