i figured out the problem. SOMEHOW in my test drive around the block a washer got stuck in the bov sticking it OPEN! WTF what are the odds. anyway. it idles perfect at 750rpm again. it smokes like a mother though. i'm pretty sure my turbo is shot i'm only getting 7psi..... around town it runs fine but on the highway gets a little hot. i think its time to order a giant high cfm electric cooling fan. needless to say the other engine at 15psi was way faster LOL

Stock turbos suck, even if rebuilt. It sucks to learn that the hard way.

i know. i'm leaning towards getting the hks t04e turbo kit for $2000. but i don't have $2000 at the moment. we'll see what happens. i hate stock turbos almost as much as i hate vacuum lines

RX-7 owners: The ozone layer fears us.

$2 grand is a whole lot for a turbo, but the fact that mine only has 6K miles on it and there's already oil on the compressor wheel is enough to sell me.
