[quote name='drftk1d' date='Jul 6 2005, 11:18 AM']i have noi idea why people put them back on, and i know the rotors are drilled brembos, so its not like they are stock or anything.

kevin: are you saying i shoud try to drill the screw out from behind the rotor?

and is it really okay to hit it with a hammer with the screws in? i need to preserve teh studs

you wont hurt the studs, and if you manage too ill send you the $2 for a new stud and nut.

i do this all day.

if you're going to drill out the screw, you can do it from the front of the rotor, right where youd put the screwdriver, theres nothing behind it yuo can hurt, its already a hole in the hub so you cant possibly damage the hub.

Normally if i strip them at work i use an air chisel to spin them around.

but anyway, yea ive hit rotors so hard at times that they have shattered, and IT HURTS NOTHING.

repeat, IT HURTS NOTHING.

except maybe you if the rotor falls on you, or abuddy, or hits a car nearby.

i forget which car it is, i tihnk bmws, they have 3 ******* allen heads or maybe torx head bolts in their rotors. when they freeze i just take out the air chisel and spin them that way.

ALSO, those bolts are only used by the factory in the manufacturing process to hold the rotors on while it goes down the line.

in actuality your wheel holds the rotor on, yes YOUR WHEEL HOLDS THE ROTOR ON.

brakes are veyr simple, people have a tendency to complicate them.
