So like on the front brakes on these things are the rotors supposed to be floating or is the hub and rotor all one unit?



Annnddd if it's floating how the @#$@#% do you get it off?



Allready drilled out the screws.



I thought they were floating but as I don't really OWN a tii or anything and haven't done the brakes one one. . .

They don't float. There are two screws from the factory that are used to hold the rotor on the hub during assembly. Remove those, which you've done, and the rotor should slide off the hub. However, I have seen them so corroded it was neccesary to cut the rotor off the hub. If heat and pressure won't pop the rotor off the hub cut a line from the outside edge of the rotor to the hub. Careful not to cut the hub itself. This will relieve the pressure and allow you to remove the rotor.

i need to do that. but withn mine the damn screw is stripped and is stuck in the rotor

and as always GABH= Get abigger hammer.



we use a cut off wheel and cut a piece of the rotor hat off, it normally makes the rotor super fragile, one shot to the front face with a 3lbs sledge and the rotor splits in half.



i use this almost everyday on stupid ford expeditions and f150-350's

bmw's too, stupid allen screw, just hit the rotor on the back side and it breaks off

genius... and always remember, never be scared to actually hit it w/some force. It isn't weak electronics, but instead something who's primary function is to create heat through friction. It can take a beating... so let it have one.

just remember, you don't really need to put those screws back on. If you put your wheels on right everything will line up as it should.

i have noi idea why people put them back on, and i know the rotors are drilled brembos, so its not like they are stock or anything.

and is it really okay to hit it with a hammer with the screws in? i need to preserve teh studs

yeah bigger hammer was pretty much it.
