I've posted a couple of specific questions on my '89 , but curious as to what the general thought is on this year.



I also have an '85 GS with what I believe is a toasted apex seal....oh well.



The '89 has fuel injection and not a whole lot of power, but seems to get up and going in a respectable fashion. It is completely stock with 153K on the clock. Well, the transmission was rebuilt about 2 years ago by the former owner.



Any opinions?

If you put on full exhaust and an intake, the car will gain a lot of power. In 89, Mazda made some changes to the car (for the better).
