You don't need awd to beat a STI. you just need 350 HP and a good launch.

the handling will probably be pretty shitty on the AWD RX-7, it will probably sit like a truck anyhow, why not just build a truck, or at the least do it to a GXL, paint it all white to look like a AE.

yea but when hes pulling 8.9 down a quarter and since he is the only true tuner where i live, its just a pride thig i guess

Dont you think that you are going to have a tough time getting numbers like that? Not nocking you at all here, really like the idea, but that seems a little difficult.

all good, its just i really wanted to do some thing that someone has not never done, but something that is completly original, and its all good my plan fell through anyhow, i was talked out of the whole idea for the simple fact that the money involved is going to way to much I WILL DO IT IF I WIN THE LOTTEREY! just realizing that the whole project multiple cars, and all the custom fabrications are going to b for the most part a waste of time and money expecially for someone like me, the idea is sound if i was able to grab the right parts and the rights mechanics to assist me, Mazdaspeed7 would have built it for me but the price tag is way up there, plus ive been looking at the diagrams of the chassis of a rx7 and there is almost now play, or anywhere to move something to its needed locations, it was an awesome idea, and a awesome eye cather, its just not for me, thanks for all of the input from all of you, and i will start another project shortly, need to entertain my idle hands somehow.

the millen 1st gen used 83-85 626 front struts (they bolt in to the strut tops), axles, an alfa diff (90-93 miata is a better choice), and a hewland transfer case. the rear was stock based. engine was offset to the side and rearwards.

the one he mentioned is apparently running high 8's though... 310 or even 350hp won't even come close to touching that.
