Tach Didn't Work After Car Wash.
Today I took my car in for a car wash at one of mobils touchless car washes to get some of the underbody salt off.
My car is an s4 NA with a T2 hood. Well during the car wash my car just dies, and it took me forever to get it started again. I got it started before the wash was done. But I realized my tach stopped working. So I got it into my garage, hand wiped my car dry, and looked under the hood. I did the good old mechanics tap on everything, looked in my car and the tach started to work again. I was just curious as to wat controls the tach so that I know what to look at, if this happens again.
Thanks for any help.

was the engine check light on? after i had my tranny rebuilt they stripped out one of the tranny bolts and the car would ground out, trip an engine code, and the trailing coil would stop working.
Actually no engine check light came out, but now that u mention the trailing coil. I do remember my car missing really bad when i tried to rev it up at first, before it died. Then it really wouldn't start for about 3 minutes.
