searched for a while, didnt find any info on what i wanted to know exactly.

my friends got an 86 SE. With an open diff and 3.90 gears(im guessing thats what they have stock). Now i came across a gtu rear with lsd and 4.10.

would this be a straight swap or are there other parts, other than just the rear itself that need to be changed??

dont forget im a SA/FB guy, dont know jack about FCs.

 

all the na manual tranny cars came with 4.10 gears, the gxl, sport, and 88 gtu, and gtus came with limited slips.

the automatics had a 3.90 rear gear

the 89-90 gtus has a 4.30

89-91 GXL and normal N/A didn't have LSD..... i think it was optional right mike ?

 

i dunno about 89-91 gxl i thought it would though? the 86-88 gxl's do

its weird. 89-91 have leather and all that crap but no LSD! atleast from what i've seen

i found that out a long time ago when i wanted to put a LSD in my GTU. i eventually bought a GTUs 4.33 rear. i sold it to flyby116. his car should have 200rwhp N/A so i know its going to good use

i like N/A.... the only RX7 i couldn't kill.....

 

ive heard of a few s5 GXL's having LSD's, but i have a feeling it may been a random occurence and mazda was just throwing whatever they had on the shelf on the car.
