Roots chargers produce a lot of heat cause they don't compress the air, with the other's you can get away without an intercooler if you're not running huge boost levels.

mmmmm, I love the smell of FUD in the afternoon. The fact remains that you are choking your engine by putting a turbo in the way of the exhaust gas which is just trying to ram more A/F down the throttle body, talk about robbing hp (yes i can fling the FUD too). If you are too ignorant to appreciate the advantages AND disadvantages of a S/C as well as a turbo then leave this thread be.

Wow, i almost lost it there. I was half way out the door to kidnap a group of riceboyz. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683664.gif

Let me try that again, some people prefer turbos and others S/C. For certain applications and one is prefered over the other, and both forms of boost increase hp at the expense of the engine. What that means is there is no free lunch, it takes power to create power with either application. Superchargers are great for that on-demand boost (roots and screw types), while turbos are great for that high rpm power. Both suffer from the by-product of increased heat.

My 2 cents. for more, do some research.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll be dynoing my FC Vert with a Paxton centrifugal supercharger. Based on my pulley selection, I'll have to limit the revs to 7k RPMs, but the low-end response will be a bit better because of it. I'm hoping to see somewhere between 220-240 whp. I have a single-stage water injection kit from David at Cooling Mist to help combat high intake temps and to prevent detonation on my high-compression S5 motor.

I forgot to mention that I originally considered the Camden supercharger kit; however, I can describe its performance as nothing more than pathetic for the money. After I dyno my car, I'll post a comparison of another FC owner's Camden-powered FC with my centrifugal-powered FC.
