the car idles between 1200 and 1600. I can't find any vacum leaks. i can't figure out how to bring it down.

I set the tps, i have tried to set timing, but whenever it is dead on, it will stay there for like 30 seconds and start jumping all over. The car runs smoother when it is about 10 degrees off.

I have a steetported T2 and leaky fuel injectors (which are being replaced). How can i bring down the idle, and get the motor to steady out when timed correctly.

did you do any tb mods?

How can you set timing at 1600 rpm? Isnt it advancing already?

i pulled the plates off the rod, but i didn't even remove the rod.

exactly, you need to get the idle smooth at about 900-1000rpm before trying to set the timing.

Dont you also have to jump a conector to keep it locked? I think you do.

Yeah, or the computer just compensates for the adjustment, probably the 30 second thing he's talking about. If the stock cpu wasn't a dinosaur it would process a little faster.

DJ Blu 07-07-2005 01:39 PM

it's the same connector as the tps right?... the one you have to jump.

fc3s4utnv 07-07-2005 06:13 PM

no its over by the headlight on the drivers side. check the manual.

Leaky fuel injectors aren't going to help idle any.....

Before you bother, fix the injectors.
