Strut Bar Headache And Off Topic Question
#1
I just bought a strut bar off ebay. I tried to put it in but would not clear alternator. So a brilliant idea was to bend the part where the bar connects up. This turned out very badly since i left two nice scratches and dents in my fender Oh well paint job coming soon. How do i put this bar on?
I have been taking a look at members rides, on the side of some turbos it says turbo III.... Is this true? I thought they are turbo II's?

Which strut bar is it? Do you have a different alternator? I know my old bar needed to be shaved to fit over the alternator.
Are you sure it was designed for the FC or is it from some bargain shop that said it would fit?
There are no Turbo III's. I am sure they were just bored and stuck another I on there

sorry to hear it man, I went through this too with a cheap *** ebay bar that the hood would not clear so I finally threw the piece of **** out and got the CP racing front bar off ebay.... I think that CP bar has the best fitment out there and its quality... only $50 for the 2 point and I think $75 for the 4 point with firewall attachment...
For the install of your piece of **** (no offense), take the middle bar out, snug down both strut tower mounts, then screw in the ends so the bolt holes match up perfect, then thread the allen bolts through. Those bars are supposed be position right side up to clear the alternator but your hood may hit it then... not much you can do about it. Once you get the allen bolts in, then torque down the strut tower bolts in a criss cross pattern.

Which eBay bar did you get? I bought an Aspec one from Autobacs and had no fitment issues. Clears my alternator by a good inch or so.
