Holy crap. I hope I can track it down now, bastards already charged me for it.
I honestly don't think I am going to carry ACT anymore, they are constantly on backorder.

My buddy told me that with his RB steel flywheel he can't get a launch at 5k in 1st with it. Has TO4s etc, etc. He didn't say that it wasn't the drive either. I think I might just get the engine in and wait. Changing the flywheel woudln't be to bad in the car. I'm getting some ingersoll rand air tools here soon. They have a 1000ft lbs impact gun!!! Holy moly! I'ma get a 400ish lbs. one, should be able to get that big bitch for a nut off ya think? (120 psi compressor, usually set at 95-100).

I got the steel one. Over the 13 years of owning this car I've tossed a fair amount of money on a lot of crap. I'm happy to say the lightweight flywheel was worth the money.
Does anyone have a 12 pound aluminum one? Is there one available that's lighter than 9 pounds?

Anything lighter is of questionable use - remember the pressure plate is pretty heavy.
The thing I like is the replaceable friction plate. I had a steel flywheel resurfaced once and it picked up a vibration (needed a rebalance).

To remove the nut I just used a flywheel lock tool, my 54 mm socket, and slipped a 3 foot long piece of pipe over my 2 foot breaker bar. It popped right off the first time without a problem. That was with the engine in the car. I had an impact gun and the RB tool on standby.
Why can’t your buddy launch at 5K? What does he say happens? A lightweight flywheel will not store the same energy as a stock flywheel at 5K, however it will allow you to accelerate faster than the stocker once the car has hooked up.

I have the heavier one of the two, I didn't have any trouble getting it from my local shop, it came in in less than 2-3 days. It took nearly 2 weeks for my clutch kit to come from ACT though.
It looks to be a nice piece. Only complant is no replaceable friction disk, for the cost, of the ACT wheel, I don't replaceing it a few years down the road.
I also had both of mine cryo treated at out local cryo place Deep Freeze Cryo.
