Strange Clutch Problem

The other day when I was driving home I pushed the clutch in and it fell all the way to the ground. So after I pump the clutch a few times, it starts to build pressure and now its really noticeably stiff(twice as stiff than previously). I have trouble putting the car in first gear but all gears are harder to shift into now. I replaced the clutch master cylinder not too long ago. Anyone have a weird experience like this before? TIA.

Thanks for the advice. Yea I also failed to mention that the slave master cylinder boot is ripped. I also thought that maybe it could be the throw out bearing because it was kinda loud before engaging the clutch. But ill replace the slave first.

first step is obvious check amount of fluid, if its still full then its probably just a messed up slave, but if its losing fluid then that could be a leak somewhere, something again that could be attributed to the slave.

$25.00 for the whole slave? thats cheap!
Overhaul kit? Thats expensive $8.00 for an overhaul kit here.
Yeah probably the slave, especially if it dropped to the floor. Probably sucking up some air somewhere, good Idea to change it on like Rob x-7 said, but if your short on cash I wouldnt change the clutch, but if you do or even open it up check your clutch fork for damage.........

Thanks for all the help guys. I fixed it. Stupid me but the clutch pedal just needed to be adjusted to the appropriate level. By making the clutch pedal come out more, it allowed the slave to push the fork and throw out bearing further on the pressure plate allowing full engagement of the clutch and smooth shifts.

If it's the slave cylinder you'll be leaking brake fluid on the ground and your reservoir will be getting low... My guess would be you have the rod on the pedal adjusted to long and it is pushing in the master cylinder piston past the pin hole that allows the master cylinder to draw fluid from the reservoir and also to return it. If it is adjusted to where it is past this hole you will have similar problems to the one you’re having. If you look under the dash you should see the rod. Try to wiggle it and see if it is free or has pressure on it. If it has pressure on it and the piston is pushed in at all then you need to adjust the rod a little looser so that the piston can return all the way to the rear.
