I mean testing the effects of removing the BAC without using a/c. If it has any side effects.

vosko 11-17-2002 02:28 PM

oh....................... my a/c is in a trash can LOL

mine too! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

My BAC doesn't do anything....nothing changes if I unplug it.

j9fd3s 11-18-2002 11:15 AM

it will idle a little lower (200-300rpms?) without the bac, and it cant compesate for loads anymore (if you have ps, rear defroster etc), so if you take out the bac you should bump up the idle speed to about 900-1000 rpms so it doesnt stall

when my bac got unpluged. my engine would almost stall out when I turned the heater on... it's not only for A/C. it's for lots of stuff.

FYI if you want a nice TB try this https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png my spare one is in the mail back to me https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

I've done the TB mod, and got rid of the BAC. I still need to re-adjust the TPS, and turn up the idle. Right now it idles around 600 rpm. Oh, and I'm not running AC or PS.

1Revvin7 11-19-2002 07:24 AM

nice of you to poke your head in, haven't seen you in awhile. So you didn't see and side effects either...

ILUVMY88CABRIO 11-21-2002 02:54 AM

Just a low idle.

Turbo II FC 11-21-2002 03:51 AM

Damn, well I think I figured out my problem as to why my car wont stay alive when I turn on the A/C! My BAC has the mod done I think and isnt used because theres no hoses on each of the ends. How would I go about getting my A/C from killing my car when it idles? Would I have to hook up the BAC again?

1Revvin7 11-21-2002 08:21 AM

crank up your idle to like 900.

cymfc3s 11-21-2002 11:58 AM

just adjust the throttle stop so the throttle plates are cracked open. Im running no idle control system on the yellow car. Idles rock solid at 800rpm.

vosko 11-21-2002 12:13 PM

my OLD TII idles perfect too. only thing i have to do is hold the gas for like 10 seconds on cold starts.... besides that perfect https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png

same here, i actually corrected my bad idle. Most likely from fixing a vac leak.

Where would you perform this at? I just want to make sure I do it in the right place. TIA
