Well it's in damn good shape exterior and interior....1986 gold w/sunroof, 5-lug, N/A, 5 spd.

Everything works on it except I'm noticing little problems with it...

Like:

Battery light comes on and is really annoying and when I press the brakes all of the lights dim

Solution: Dunno...maybe new battery or altenator, maybe it's a ground somewhere.

Runs constantly good at idle...

Car dies at almost every stop light...unless I'm not using the brakes, gotta rev while stopping.

Solution:Need a little help.

No smoke (not really a problem just thought I'd add it).

Power seems horrid.. Floor it and it goes strong and gets weak and goes strong again.

Solution: Maybe a fuel filter (doubt), Injectors.

Brakes are soft, and it takes a little bit of pumping to get them to work good.

Solution: Bleed Brakes, Plan B: Get new master cylinder, after checking brake lines.

Exhaust Leak

Solution: Get a new exhaust system.

Coolant Bubbling sound when it's shut off warm.

Solution: Maybe it's normal, it's not leaking any.

Sunroof works BUT you have to help it a lil'

Solution: Probably due to the battery thing, then again I dunno.

I'm going to probably give it an oil change, spark plugs (does it use the NGK bur9eq's too?), buy a manual for it, Vacuum it, Wash it, new plug wires, and new exhaust (any cheap good ones? The exhaust leak makes it sound mean though.), any other suggestions?

I really didn't need to buy it I just couldn't pass up the chance at that good of a price. Plus when I was pulling out I saw like 16 (people of the) Mexican (pursuasion) guys that came up to it with a trailor..and from the looks of their van, I didn't want them to ruin it.

Soo..need a little help as always, and I'll put some pics of it or hell all three of my rx's up soon.

Oh yea..

The AC blows but not cold.

Solution: Convert to 134....and charge it.

Congrats on the purchase!

I had the coolant bubbly noise, and it had a small

split in one of the coolant hoses, just check them with

close detail.

sounds like it has some common electrical issues, your BAC valve may be bad too.. its supposed to compensate for loads (like braking) and maintain the idle

Its on the back of the dynamic chamber above the UIM.. its blue and has a wiring harness going to it if your looking from the drivers side. I have a couple extra laying around if yours is bad, just PM me.

nice pick up, seems like u have a lot of work to get too. coolant is a normal, just change the cap. how many miles on the car and what not. check the tps for the idle, i used to have to rev at everystop. as for the brakes, bleed and try again, better safe than sorry

it's got 145000 miles on it...

Anyone know why it seems to lose power while accelerating and gain it back and stuff?

My 1st gen does the same thing...is that normal for an N/A?

not normal, sounds like a fuel prob like maybe the filter or the injectors. maybe it just needs a tune up/
