i dont get it. i did change out my power window switches on both sides to S5 style, maybe a wire came loose?

where are the sensors? i looked at the FSM, and my sophmore intro to electrical engineering class isn't helping me understand that wiring diagram.

any ideas?

what is the problem? the light is on constant? and you can't arm it?

is your hood open?

no, everything is closed, the hood, the hatch, the sunroof, and both doors are locked.

in the past, when i locked / unlocked the door, it would make a beeping sound, now it doesn't.

i get out, lock the door, and the light keeps flashing and never goes off.

it used to stay on, flash quick, and go off. now it just flashes.

i saw a guy's car that had his alarm on and it flashed, i thought that's what it's supposed to do when it's armed

far as I remember, my old 88 GXL had the light come on steady when I lock it, close the door and it started flashing and stayd flashing. like every 5-10 sec.

What it should do is be constant until the last door is closed, then it flashes very quickly for about 7 seconds, then it begins slow flashing (every 5 seconds or so).

If you've locked it up, and it's flashing, does it go off if you open the door from the inside?

yeah, that's what it's supposed to do. stay on after you lock it for like 10 sec, then go off and blink occasionally.

mine doesn't do that. it doesn't arm. it thinks the door is unlocked or something.

it has to be a sensor or something. which is what i'm wondering, and where are they located?

theres a micro switch on the hood latch. i'm not sure where the other ones are, it might use the dome light switches.

after looking at the FSM wiring diagram, and messing with my car, i noticed that my driver side lock, when i lock it up and down, makes a beeping sound. the passender door lock doesn't, i might have knocked a wire loose/off when i replaced my power window switches the other day.

i'll take the door apart and see if i can figure it out.

and so the mystery unfolds...
