Simple question, will it bolt up? Have the "great oppurtunity" to put a S5 N/A motor into my old 88 SE. I am just curious if it will bolt up without any problem? No starter placement issues, driveshaft?

Also, could the S5 differential, and axles be swapped right in, or are the axles a different size?

If this can happen, I will be soooo excited.

EDIT: I think using the S5 trans would be a better idea actually, as the miles on the entire drivetrain is 77k for the S5, and the S4 is like 167k.

Motor is in good shape also, has 15-20k miles on it.

the tranny should bolt right up. the rear end will fit fine. The half shafts that go into the rear end for the s5 have one that is longer inside the rear end. So don't be swaping half shafts of and s4 and putting them on an s5 rear end. The drive axles will fut just fine though. Good luck.

Seriously? That is great. I should have another rx-7 in about a month.

Better make it two months.

You need to have the correct year transmission mount to match the year of your transmission

It is covered, and thanks for telling me that, so I don't go and sell it.

I will have an entire interior for sale soon, color is blue, but the steering wheel, idiot gauge cluster(top of dash), and stereo surround, and the shifter boot(plastic) has been called for already. Anything else, is pretty much up for grabs, seats were pretty beat however. PM me if you want something.
